Main Lobby Renovation, St. Petersburg General Hospital

IMG_6935_edited.jpg

The goal for this renovation was to update the main reception area, including public restrooms, elevator lobby, gift shop and waiting areas to properly reflect the state-of-the-art healthcare the hospital provides. Quartz was selected for high-touch areas at the reception area and porcelain tile floors were installed to provide for durability easy maintenance and disinfection. Art was introduced into the design with large back-lit glass panels featuring x-rays of seashells - a nod to the beaches surrounding St. Petersburg, as well as through signage, materials and lighting. Existing waiting room furnishings were reused and colors were selected to compliment them as well as create a peaceful, fresh environment. The Gift Shop was redesigned to reduce distraction yet allow clear information through die-cut illuminated signage. Fresh flowers are delivered weekly to welcome all visitors and patients.
